Configure backup fails with wrong user name or password
Hi,
This is the second Pc that I'm configuring for backup, on the first Pc everything went fine, but on the second PC I just can't finish configuring the backup.
In backup wizard the following options were choosen :
-------------------------
Backup mode : File Level Backup
-------------------------
Files : Personal files + Local Disk D
-------------------------
Destination : Shared folder
-------------------------
Share folder : \\SERVER-NAME\EndPoint\EndpointBackups\HP2
This share requires access credentials : YES
username : backup@DOMAIN
password : backup users password
When I click populate the size od the drive is displayed.
But, when I click Next, I get an error message : The user name or password is incorrect. Failed to create or open file.
First of all, if the username or password is incorrect I couldn't map the network location, second thing, on the first PC everything worked fine.
Please Help

Re: Configure backup fails with wrong user name or password
Hello Bruno,
Can you open the said shared folder while being logged in under the 'backup' user account?

Yes, I can log on to the share either as the backup user from the PC, or I can map the share under any account using the backup user credentials.
If I recall it right the populate option won't work if I supply an incorrect user acc or pass.

Got it. What if you type the exact path manually with creds being set – are you able to pass the validation by pressing the Next button in the wizard?

Haven't tried that one, I'll try it in the morning and report back.

Re: Configure backup fails with wrong user name or password
So, after toying with domain creds, changing share permissions, etc. I've found the problem.
At first I didn't notice at all that the date and time was set incorrectly, after changing the share permissions so all users could access the share the instead of the earlier message, a brand new message popped up on validation in Endpoint Backup, something like "Could not create file, wrong date and time".
Anyway, the problem is solved after setting the right date and time on the PC.
