Hello,
We are configured "Entire Computer" backups for some users with destination as "Veeam Backup & Replication repository" with 5 restore points option. The backups are completed daily as per the scheduled time.
We want to keep a copy of the last full backup at a separate location. So we just copied the entire content from one of the user directory that was created in the server drive.
Now when we try to restore individual files and select the vbm file copied to the new location, we are getting error "Unsupported VBM format".
Can someone guide if it is possible to do it the way i mentioned above OR do we have to take a separate Full backup at the new location ?
Thanks,
K

Re: Copy the backup files from Veeam Repository for Restore
Hi Dima,
I am trying to restore with Veeam Endpoint software only. We are trying the option to restore individual files from a different computer than user's computer (used for backups).
Please guide.
Regards,
K

Re: Copy the backup files from Veeam Repository for Restore
drivesafely,
If backup was stored at VBR repository you should perform a recovery from VBR repository due the backup permission stored in backup file meta. Try to import this backup back to the VBR repo, start file level recovery and connect to the VBR server in the question with VBR admin account. You should see the said backup file.

Re: Copy the backup files from Veeam Repository for Restore
Hi Dima,
Thanks for reply. Yes we are able to restore from VBR repository without any issues but cannot if we copy the same files to any other location and then try to restore.
As you have said that it will not work due to backup permissions stored in the backup file meta.
Thanks for the guidance.
