Create recovery media stuck

Trying to create recovery media on a CF card connected to a Lexar USB CF reader. I can select the drive as the destination, and I get the warning that the drive will be formatted. I see the "Mounting..." message, the "Configuring..." message, but then it gets stuck at the "Copying Veeam Recovery Environment files" step and never completes. Tried cancelling after about 10 minutes, and now it's stuck cancelling. The duration timers for both the Copying.. and Cancelling... steps keep running, but nothing happens.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

geofftx,
Shut down the Endpoint process or reboot. Please open a support case thru the built in ticketing system at the Control Panel > Support > Submit a support case so we could check the logs and investigate this issue further.

My machine ended up rebooting after MS updates and when I tried creating recovery media after the reboot it worked. Didn't see any messages about rebooting after installing endpoint protection - is that a requirement?

No, but it might be SQL server components update and since Endpoint utilizes the localdb this affects Endpoint built in functionality.
