Disable VSS in backup job?

Is it possible to completely disable VSS when running agent backup? Even if I choose individual files it still tries to do VSS shadow copies depending on what volume the directorys are at i guess.

No, it not possible - VAW uses VSS to create a backup. Out of curiosity, why would you like VSS to be disabled? Thanks.

Oracle running on client. Oracle ppl dont want VSS messing with their stuff. They are dumping files to disk as they always been doing it. Therefore, we need a "simple" file copy backup.

When running VAW in a server edition you can disable application processing. In this case backup process should not take any effect on residing oracle application.
