Email notification not working
I have set my email notification with the correct username and password, to email me when backups complete. I never get the notification. When I click the button to send the test message I never get the test message, and I also don't get any error. It says test message successful. Any suggestions?

Hello Patrick,
What email server are you using? You might need to specify smtp server address and port under advanced settings in case delivery is not working.

Thanks! Try to enable the described Access for less secure apps option at the gmail side.

I tried that. While I'm now getting emails from other apps, (such as shell scripts I've written), I'm still not getting veeam's test email.

Re: Email notification not working
Try to run a telnet from the affected computer to smtp.gmail.com server. You may need to install telnet client: go to Start, type Windows Features, open the Windows Features control panel and enable the Telnet Client (check the telnet client box and hit install). Once done open Command Prompt and type in:
If is a firewall issue, you should see connection refused error ( or something similar).
Code: Select all
Telnet smtp.gmail.com 465

Re: Email notification not working
It appears that the telnet session was successful. I just get a blank screen with a flashing cursor.

Re: Email notification not working
Thanks! Please double check the settings (specifically the username as this might be confusing - you need to use the user name without gmail domain)

Re: Email notification not working
I have this figured out now. I get the email when I send from a different address on my email account. Thanks for the help!
