Email notification: set sender email address
Hi guys, I've deployed VEB package for some customers and now I'm getting overwhelmed by notification emails of Success/Failure backups, messed up in my Inbox with regular Veeam B&R vSphere backups.
Question: it's possibile to set a specific "from" address for VEB backups, different from main B&R "from" address? For example:
veeam@customer.com for regular Veeam B&R
veb@customer.com for Veeam Endpoint Backups
Cheers
Marco

Re: Email notification: set sender email address
Hi Marco,
Unfortunately, it’s not possible in the current release. The only suggestion I have to create an Outlook rule for Endpoint backup jobs (since they all have the same prefix ‘ Endpoint Backup job ‘ without quotes) in order to filter all the notifications.

Re: Email notification: set sender email address
Dima,
What if you created veb@customer.com and set it as the global address in VBR.
Then each individual VBR job set it as vbr@customer.com, wouldn't each individual job setting overwrite the global setting? This way VEB jobs get sent out on the global and the VBR jobs use what is supplied when creating the backup job.
I may be off base but just a thought!

Re: Email notification: set sender email address
Jax,
It will work only for recipients “to” address – you can’t change the “from” address in the granular job notifications. I completely forgot about it while investigating your issue in separate thread – so sorry for misleading
