Email report fields

Post by Padr »

I am trying to understand the fields in the email report received on a successful backup e.g. "Size", "Read", "Transferred" etc. The size in particular seems to be a cumulative figure over all backup in a chain ? since start ? Also e.g. compression 1.6x - what does this mean ? that the uncompressed incremental data backed up is 1.6 times the vib file size ? or something else ?

I have looked at the help files / forum etc but cant see these figure explained anywhere - apologies if this has been asked before. Perhaps a link to any explanatory information if the question is already answered somewhere ?

Hi Padr,

Size — total size of all disks processed by the job.
Read — amount of data read from the source disk.
Transferred — amount of data transferred from the source to the target repository.
compression 1.6x - what does this mean ? that the uncompressed incremental data backed up is 1.6 times the vib file size ?
Yes, data during this job run was compressed x1.6
