Enable Oracle Database exclusions from AAIP
Hi,
Is it possible to exclude Oracle from being processed by VAW ?
I know this is possible for VEB as described in https://www.veeam.com/kb2110
But I need this functionality for VAW as well.
Basically I need these functionalities:
"Added ability to skip NOARCHIVELOG mode databases without warnings. To enable this behavior, create OracleSkipNoArchiveLogDB (DWORD) registry value under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication key on the processed VM."
"Added ability to disable Oracle processing without having to disable application-aware processing for the rest of applications running on the same VM. To enables this behavior, create DisableOracleProcessing (DWORD) registry value under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication key on the processed VM."
Which were added to VEB 9.5u1.
With regards,
Arend

Hello Arend.
This functionality is available for VAW as well, but it works for SQL databases. Please check with our support team, there might be another regkey specifically for Oracle DBs. Thanks.

Re: Enable Oracle Database exclusions from AAIP
Well I got word back from the Support Team.
As it currently stands, the registry key DisableOracleProcessing (REG_DWORD) with value '1' will work in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup" (after that restart Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows service).
The registry key OracleSkipNoArchiveLogDB is not implemented for VAW
I believe this key should not only be implemented in VAW but also enabled by default.
So hereby my suggestion to implement this.

"DisableOracleProcessing" no longer works in VAW 3.0.2

Hello Arend,
Can you please clarify if it's possible to disable application-aware processing for Oracle in the job properties instead of using the mentioned registry key? Cheers!

Re: Enable Oracle Database exclusions from AAIP
Hello Guys,
DisableOracleProcessing (REG_DWORD) with value '1' in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup" did resolve my problem.
I was also getting warnings (Unable to perform application-aware processing of Oracle database (SID:...) with VSS enabled and "Perform copy only" Option set.
After enabling the regkey no warnings appear!
Best regards
