endpoint cryptolocker protection - veeam repository

Post by PeterN11 »

Hi,
how to best handle when I have 100 clients backup to repository - I created one domain account only for clients backup, but all backup clients using same credentials..
dont see so practice have for every computer different domain login with different domain password..

how to secure this repository when "one computer can be infected"? so not crypt whole repository, thank you

Are you using a file share or a Veeam Backup repository?

sorry, but there is nothing about Veeam repository option - so shall I even with Veeam repository use option "disconnect removable media" when backup done? or what?

set the dedicated ‘backup’ account and limit the regular end-user access to the backup location.
That was the idea.

This can be accomplished by Setting Up User Permissions on Backup Repositories. By the way, you can use NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account of the computer where the product is installed to access the repository like described here
