Error: Can't run/install Veeam on Win 10 x64 Pro

Post by Psychor »

I just built a new machine and installed Win 10 x64 Pro (Creators Update). One of the first things I did was install and configure Veeam Endpoint - no issues.

Fast forward a couple of days I go to check Veeam by double clicking on it in the taskbar. However, this causes it to crash. That's a first.

I uninstall Veeam and reboot. I then try to reinstall it, but the installer crashes. What the heck is going on?

Application: Veeam.Setup.Endpoint.dat

I ran "sfc /scannow" but it report that there were no issues.

Since I was able to install it and run it a couple of days ago something I installed afterward must be causing an issue, but I don't know how/why.

Thanks.

Best would be to contact support via https://www.veeam.com/support.html to see what is going on so we can resolve the issue.

Thanks, but I can't as I don't have a business account. The form won't accept my email address.

I figured out the issue. Hopefully it will help others. Evidently Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS) is now causing Veeam to crash. Closing RTSS or leaving it running but seeing detection level to "none" fixed the issue. What's odd is that in the last version of Win 10 x64 Pro this wasn't an issue - perhaps RTSS needs to be updated in view of the Creator's Update release of Windows.

UPDATE: The latest beta for RTSS fixed the issue - http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p ... tcount=254.

Psychor,

Thanks a lot for sharing!

P.S. For a free edition you can open a case only via VEB/VAW UI (support portal wont work). It's safe to open a case via any other VEB installation if you cant do that on the affected machine. In case, it's not an option - just post your issue here at the forums and we will ask our support team to reach you
