Failed to backup (encrypted files)
I configured backup for Windows 7 computer and Endpoint Backup comes with "Failed to backup" with file name error message. I noticed these were Windows encrypted. How can I backup Windows encrypted files?

Re: Failed to backup (encrypted files)
If you are using Bitlocker encryption you need to ensure the drive is "unlocked" before running the backup. If the drive is "locked" the backup will fail.
From the User Guide:
From the User Guide:
You can create backups of BitLocker encrypted volumes and store backups created with Veeam Endpoint Backup on BitLocker encrypted volumes.
BitLocker encrypted volumes (both source and target) must be unlocked at the moment when Veeam Endpoint Backup starts the backup operation.
If the volume added to the backup scope is locked at the moment of backup, the backup job will be unable to process it and will fail.

Re: Failed to backup (encrypted files)
It is Windows encryption (right click - properties - advanced - encrypt content to secure data - checked). Yes, it is file level backup as I just wanted to backup just certain files/folders. Rest of the backup goes through with warning on these encrypted files.

Re: Failed to backup (encrypted files)
Thanks dsaini. Per Release Notes known issues: Encrypted files and folders are skipped during file level backup with the “access denied” error. To work around the issue, use volume-level backup
