Error: Failed to create recovery media

I couldn`t find anything about this topic so,


Hi, I´m trying to burn .iso image to media.
First I install on the PC: VeeamB.Endpoint
Then, when I try to burn it on a cd recovery:
At the end of the process, appears these error messages:


"burning iso image to media error: Error H result E_fail has been returned from a call Com component".
"veeam failed to create recovery media Error H result E_fail has been returned from a call Com component".

All th e others steps are OK.


Some one knows what happend?

Do you have any error messages in the Windows Event log at the time when this message occurred?

Hi grg647,

It might be a firewall or antivirus locking the windows components, so you can try to disable (or add VEB to the exclusion list). The next step would be to open a support case directly from Endpoint’s Control Panel > Support tab.

Dima you were right!

The solution was to disble Antivirus Kaspersky.
The log of the windows event said that there was a sector error in the cd-r...¿?
In the server kaspeersky I`ve could not find anything related with this failure.
VEB was already included in the firewall list.

Glad you nailed it. It’s a pity that you don’t have any info in the Kaspersky console – otherwise I could submit a false positive request. Thanks anyway!
