Failed to establish SSL connection.
Hi
Doing some testing with VAW and cloud connect. ( I know I can backup directly to vbr 9.5 u1)
VAW client and VBR server sits in same subnet. Cloud connect has Self-Signed Certificates and gateway is using the local interface.
When I try to backup to cloud repository from VAW I connect using ip-adress. I am able to verify certificate with thumbprint and able to see cloud repository. But when configure backup wizard reach Summary it always shows error:
Unable to modify backup job.
Failed to save the cloud repository.
Failed to establish SSL connection.
I have tried to stop local fw on vbr server and also re-creating cetificate and gateway. But no luck.

Hi Masonit,
Have you tried to add the self-signed certificate to local windows certificate store?

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
Hi
Not sure how I exactly should do that. But I tried to export the certificate from certificates\Personal\Certificates from vbr server and imported it same folder on vaw server. But no difference.
Could it be a wizard problem? Error: Failed to establish SSL connection. that I see during Summary is the same error I get during "Credentials". When it tries to get certificate information. But when I add tenant credentials it is able to get the certificate and I can validate it with thumbprint. After that everything seems ok. But I am unable to finish the wizard because of the error it get during the credentials step.

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
After going back and forward during Summary. It after 3 retries got this error:
Unable to modify backup job.
Failed to save the cloud repository.
Your service provider does not accept backups from this version of Veeam Agent for Windows.
I am running vbr 9.5.0.823 and vaw 2.0.0.594

Hi Magnus,
You should export that self-signed certificate and place it somewhere on the VAW server. Then you need to import it on the local machine but not on certificates\personal\certificates. I believe it should be in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. Can you try that?

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
I exported certificate from vbr Trusted Root Certification Authorities store and imported to Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on vaw. But no difference. I also tried during the credentials step to click the certificate and choose to install it. But that didn't help either. It always complain about "Failed to establish SSL connection". As I said they sit in same subnet and no firewalls active. Can't see what the issue is.

Magnus,
Can I ask you to open a support call? Our engineers will be able to see in the logs what exactly is going wrong at what point. Please post the case ID here and the follow-up to help other community members
Thanks

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
Yes, the same way as you can do with VEB. There is a support tab on there
Cheers

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
Problem solved. I missed this part:
Add the following registry value on Veeam Cloud Connect 9.5 Update 1 server to enable VAW support: AllowBetaAgentAccess (DWORD) = 1

Re: Failed to establish SSL connection.
Ok, thanks for confirming that the issue was related to the registry key.
