Failed to install package: backup job is in progress
I've got a Windows Agent installed on a 2016 server, and it shows up normally in the "Manually Added" list of agents along with my other ten 2016 servers. Every day when the recan of manually added job runs, I get a warning for that server: "Failed to install package: backup job is in progress on the target host". Backups on that sever have long since finished (successfully) - any idea why it's trying to reinstall the agent (I assume that's what it's trying to do?) or suggestions on how to get the problem resolved?

On the system that the Agent is installed, have you tried restarting the VeeamEndpointBackupSvc service?
Or tried stopping it - to make it go offline?

Tried a restart and got the same error again this morning. I'll go ahead and open a support ticket.

This is turning out to be a strange one.
One of the fixes Support suggested was to remove the problem server from the protection group and re-add it. I did that and ran a rescan of the group and there were no errors. (But I haven't seen errors when I perform a rescan - it's only been the scheduled rescan that's thrown the error). This morning the scheduled rescan ran and the problem moved to another host. I've asked support if I should try dropping and re-adding that host as well, but I get the feeling the problem is just going to move to yet another host. I'll see what Support suggests next.

Support asked me to move all the agent machines into new Protection Groups and adjust my backup jobs accordingly. Did all that, backups ran clean, and all of the scheduled scans for agents ran with no errors this morning. Looks like that fixed it.

Having the same issue as this person, manual rescan works fine, scheduled rescan gives me warning that a server is skipped due to a backup job in progress.
There are no backups running, I have rebooted the veeam server and that has not helped.
I'll try to reboot the problem server after hours tonight.
