Failed to resolve IPs for repository - Case # 05010336

Post by simonneal72 »

I am getting Failed to resolve IPs for repository on two endpoints on the same network but backing up too two different NAS drives.
I have tried rebooting NAS drives, re-installing Veeam, recreating the database and still get the error.
I have at least 10 other endpoints on the same network backing up fine.

Any Advice?

Hello Simon,

Did I get it right: that's a standalone Veeam Agent for Windows installation with SMB file share set as a target for backup? Thanks!

Yes that's correct. It seems that I am getting the error regularly on various endpoints to the NAS drive's. They fail but will.oftern pass at the next attempt

Simon,

Thank you for the update! To be honest that looks like infrastructure specific issue - you can check DNS/firewall configuration. Additionally, I do remember several issues related to nas devices sitting in the sleep mode (so job first attempt was waking up nas but ended up as an error, next was successful).

HI Dima,

Thanks, yes I wondered that. I thought the issue was endpoint specific but that doesn't seem to be the case as I am seeing it on different endpoints
in the same network. They moved a NAS into the same network, so there are two different NASs on the same network that the endpoints backup to.

I will try a few things but will first check the NAS are not sleeping!!

Cheers
Simon
