Failure with new Repository
I setup a new repository and attempted to point my Endpoint jobs to it. They're all failing immediately with Error: Backup repository (string) was not found.
This new repository is a Windows 2016 server with REFS.

Re: Failure with new Repository
Seth,
Are you using B&R 9.5? Or B&R 9?

Re: Failure with new Repository
Hi Seth,
Backup to repository with ReFS is not supported by current version of VEB. It will become available in VAW 2.0 which is going to be releases soon.

Re: Failure with new Repository
But it's failing even if I set it back to the previous respository?

Re: Failure with new Repository
Seth,
Make sure that permissions are set correctly on VBR repository level. If that does not help, please open a case vie VEB Control Panel > Support and post case ID to this thread. Thank you.But it's failing even if I set it back to the previous respository?

Re: Failure with new Repository
Does the REFS rule apply to the Cloud Connect side as well?
So, let's say I backup an en endpoint to an NTFS drive but I'm running REFS on the CC side when it's copied offsite.
How does that work?
And does Endpoint support SOBR on the Cloud Copy side also?

Re: Failure with new Repository
Hi Seth,
ReFS on the cloud connect side: Yes, that will work
For the Endpoint... 2 different answers...
1. If you use VEB 1.5 today and store your data on a B&R 9.5 repository, and from there do a backup copy job to a CC... That will work. However, the repository on the on-prem B&R server cannot be a SOBR repository (see next )
2. In the future, with VAW 2 (new name of VEB) SOBR / ReFS through direct cloud connect configuration (meaning you take a backup on your endpoint and you store it immediately on the cloud connect repository... cool new feature coming ) then yes all of the above is supported but will probably require an update on the B&R side the moment VAW is GA.
Hope it helps
Mike

Re: Failure with new Repository
Ok, so far now: Backup to an on prem NTFS Repository and that can be copied to a CC SOBR running over REFS, correct?

Re: Failure with new Repository
Frankly speaking, fast merge functionality is available when you are using VBR as a destination for upcoming Veeam Agent for Windows 2.0. VEB and upcoming VAW 2.0 can use ReFS as a target but no additional functionality will be provided.
That should work.Ok, so far now: Backup to an on prem NTFS Repository and that can be copied to a CC SOBR running over REFS, correct?
