FEATURE REQUEST: Add 3 of the new B&R v9 features in VEB

Post by ds2 » 1 person likes this post

Hello,

after a few days of testing the new features in B&R v9 I would like to say -REALY GREAT JOB GUYS!

Some of the features are great (especially Exclude deleted file blocks) and I would like to see these in VEB.

So here are my wishes.

1. Exclude deleted file blocks -> Saves us much storage space and reduce the needed time for Merging and Backup Copy Jobs.

2. Full Backup file Maintenance -> Clean up, defragmentation and compacting the fullbackup files is necessary if you us VEB for a long time.

3. Storage-Level corruption guard -> Periodical helath check will protecting us from bad surprises.

Greetings from Germany

Hi, thanks for your kind words!

1. Is already present in VEB (since it's agent-based backup, and this functionality is "native" to VSS). It is host-based backups where this functionality needs to be implemented separately.

2. Planned.

3. Planned.

Thanks!

wsususer,

While we cannot disclose our roadmap, I can say that next release is a major upgrade with some most requested features. The described features (#2 and #3) should be indeed included in the Veeam Endpoint Backup next major release.
