Feature request: Backup Copy Job

Hi,

I want to achieve the 3-2-1 rule with a single physical Server and Veeam Agent for Windows.
The main backup target should be a NAS and from there the backup files should get copied to a second backup storage with the same options as B&R (additional rotating disks, Cloud, SMB, ....).

Please implement also "Backup Copy Job" in Veeam Agent for Windows .

Well, although I get the idea and it makes sense, I think that it should be the other way around:

Backup Job1 --> local storage/usb stick
Backup Copy Job --> Cloud/NAS

Otherwise you'll be doubling your backup traffic, unless there is a datamover on your NAS device.

My 2 cents: we already planned a feature Multiple Jobs for our next updates, so you can achieve what you're after.

Please integrate a "backup copy job" function for copy the already finished backups instead of do the same backup job two times for different backup storage locations.
This is most prably faster and does only stress the backup storage instead the server itself.

Please also integrate then the GFS option for the backup copy job.

We do not plan to provide the backup copy job functionality in Veeam Agent for Windows. Instead, upcoming version will have an option to create multiple backup jobs.

Or is there a chance to make B&R server free and only require a license if you like to backup or replicate from/to a Hypervisor?

I believe it's possible now - you can install Veeam B&R Free edition and install license only when it's required.
