I'm surprised this is not an option for that very reason.
As a work around, I don't see why you can't use Autoruns (Awesome little program) or manually disable the tray icon from startup since EndPoint also installs a Windows service. Any previously scheduled backup(s) should still run in the background without the tray icon, correct?
I just installed EndPoint so not enough time has passed for me to verify.
If you use, Autoruns, simply uncheck the box beside EndPoint so the tray icon will not be present on the next boot.
