This would be amazing if you could implement that. Just the ability to be able to do something like "C:\Program Files\Veeam Endpoint\veeamendpoint.exe -backupnow" to trigger off an immediate backup job.
This would allow users to configure the product to backup exactly whenever they want through a relatively basic script

Re: Feature Request - Initiate Backup through Script / Comma
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your use case, much appreciated. It seems like you want to do that for user remotely, cause if someone wants to do a backup he can initiate on-demand via GUI, or you're missing some options in existing job scheduling?
Thanks!

Re: Feature Request - Initiate Backup through Script / Comma
Our usage case....
This would also be great for us as we would be able to run our backup as follows
without guessing timing.
Send wake on lan to our NAS Drive
mount encrypted storage on NAS
"C:\Program Files\Veeam Endpoint\veeamendpoint.exe -backupnow"
Dis-mount Encrypted drive
Power NAS off
send email

Being able to initiate it remotely would be amazing, although I was more after being able to run it locally as well. For example I could have a program monitor a folder on the users machine, and when it detects a change in that folder (such as a user saving a Sage backup locally), it kicks off a backup of the machine.
Or, alternatively you could use it to run a backup every hour (which isn't possible with the current scheduler).

Alex,
Good example, thank you - we will keep it in mind. For example I could have a program monitor a folder on the users machine, and when it detects a change in that folder (such as a user saving a Sage backup locally), it kicks off a backup of the machine.
