Feature Request: more granular scheduler and command line
Hello,
I'm started using Enddpoint and I found it very poor of options regarding scheduling. It would be useful to have a more granular scheduler, so to have the possibility to schedule different types of backups, starting them at different days/time (as many other backup tools for pc).
Another usefule feature would be the ability to create a batch script via command line switches.

Hello Davide,
Thanks for the feedback – it’s highly appreciated! I have several questions regarding your requests, if you don’t mind
Thanks in advance for your answers!

You mean to provide the ability to schedule multiple backup jobs within one Endpoint instance? Can you please elaborate why you are looking for this functionality to be implemented?to have the possibility to schedule different types of backups
Are you looking for configuration via script or the management possibilities?ability to create a batch script via command line switches
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Re: Feature Request: more granular scheduler and command lin
Hello,
About scheduler, for example:
Mon-Fri: file level backup starting 01:00 PM (backup my files during lunch time)
Sat: image backup starting 08:00 AM (backup entire disk)
The one implemented in Veeam Banckup & Replication is a good example of complete scheduler.
About scripting, for example, the ability to create a dos/windosc (.bat, .cmd) script to schedule backups out of the Endpoint.
Thank you

Davide,
Got it, regarding the script are seeking to use it with some third party tool or just trigger it via Windows Task Scheduler?

Re: Feature Request: more granular scheduler and command lin
I've just seen and installed B&R Update 2 (at office).
Now another example of different scheduling is:
Mon-Fri 13:00 file level backup - destination Veeam B&R repository
Sat 08:00 (at home) image backup - destination my eternal usb drive.
tnx
Davide

I agree with this completely. For my environment I would like the option to only run jobs Monday-Thursday at a specified time, the "Daily" only option seems like a major limitation.

Chris,
Could you elaborate why daily schedule does not suite your needs? If we are talking about endpoints – during weekends desktops are usually inactive (which means really small incremental backup) or shut down or you want to use Endpoint backup for last remaining physical servers?

Hi,
I would like the schedule feature enhanced so that I can do a backup of the physical Veeam backup server on say a Saturday
cheers,
JJ

Re: Feature Request: more granular scheduler and command lin
About Command Line Option,
It could be usefull to launch a BackupEndPoint Job with command line or Powershell.
In my case, I 've file local backup on 2 disk with another free backup software. When the local file backup is finished I would like to backup the volume in our VeeamB&R server
=> Congrautlation, BackupEndPoint and VeeamB&R integration works great !
Currently, I can only schedule the backup on server. So, if the local backup is not finished, it's a problem... Indeed, the backup on server shutdown my desktop when finish...
So, with command line, I could launch the endpointbackup with the end of the previous local backup.
