I see no sign of this having changed in the latest agent, so putting in request. Typically, if you push agents from B&R, the only way to give users agent control is via the protection group checkbox in Advanced Settings - > Security "allow file level recovery without administrative account".
All the other features are greyed out, which I presume might become available if they were deployed as preinstalled agents, or installed as a free home version. While it may seem counterintuitive to allow this for pushed agents, we had this ability with our previous product (which yes, we'd still be using if we were permitted).
So I'm suggesting another checkbox, that optionally enables user control of more things in the Agent control panel 'Settings' area. In our case, if we could enable those right now for users, they would be
* throttle backup activity when system is busy (although we already have that turned on on the B&R side, so I'm not sure why this isn't already checked)
* manage networks - throttling (limit bandwidth consumption)
* restrict VPN connections usage
Additionally, if we were doing file level backups in a job, allow users to add/remove backup sources as well.
Thanks!

Re: Feature Request: more optional granular end user control in pushed agents
Hi Edison
Thanks for your requests.
We will look into it when the responsible PM is back in the office.
Best,
Fabian

That sounds strange. I would expect it to be checked. I'll have a look in my lab.* throttle backup activity when system is busy (although we already have that turned on on the B&R side, so I'm not sure why this isn't already checked)
