Re: Feature Request: Server 2016 Core
We just bought Veeam. Did a lot of testing but silly me I guess I did not notice or test specifically Server 2016 Core.
I am now stuck in a situation where we require it.
Update 4 is supposed to bring RMAN, support for vCenter 6.7U1, and now Server Core.
All 3 are things we need and are waiting for so I really hope we get them all delivered!

Re: Feature Request: Server 2016 Core
To make matters worse Exchange is supposed to be recommended for Server 2019 Core was well.
This is what our Exchange guy is planning on.
So I'll have to convince him to use a VM or non-core unless I can find verification that the next update will address this.

Hi Patrick,
Is there a written statement by Microsoft recommending that? Just curious. I believe it's just one of the options.
Thanks

Patrick,
The plan is to provide support for both Server Core (including clustered setup) and Exchange 2019 at the same time, so the goal is achievable once Update 4 is out. Cheers!

Re: Feature Request: Server 2016 Core
Did Update 4 include support for Server Core? We weren't able to get the agent to work, and my veeam guy says that Server Core is still not supported. Thanks!

Yes, and it's documented in the What's New so your Veeam guy upsets me!

Re: Feature Request: Server 2016 Core
jrsmith,
Keep in mind that Core versions are supported when agent is managed by Veeam B&R and not by standalone agent deployments. Due to the lack of UI you have to use backup jobs controlled by backup server (i.e. managed by backup server job type). Hope this helps, cheers!
