Feature request: Verify backup to check integrity

Please add the option:

Verify image to check integrity of the backup.

This is an essential feature of every serious backup program. Without that, you never know if your backup is worthless or usable.

Can you, please, clarify are you referring the Endpoint when talking about verification or to Veeam Recovery Media? The word "image" confused me a bit

Does VEB do any file verification or consistency check after a backup? Basically is there any way to verify, other than doing a manual restore, that files were indeed backedup? I only need this to check a box on an audit form...

True – there is no verification job. The only supported option is to perform a quick file level recovery.

Yea that's good enough for me, but not for my auditor. I am going to be asked to find another solution in 6 to 8 months when they come back... which is going to be a nightmare.

Fair. To tell the truth there is an integrity check every job run: it check the consistency of the existing backup chain and if it is somehow corrupter/changed/not accessible – backup job start a new full.

This check is very basic though. Dima, let's plan on adding a health check similar to one we have in B&R (aka storage-level corruption guard in v9). Much needed considering that many users are using consumer-grade disk storage having relatively high URE, which raises the chance of silent corruption up to 100 times comparing to enterprise-grade storage. We are working of this feature but, unfortunately, I can provide you the ETA. As a temporary workaround, you can start a test file level recovery or perform export as virtual disk type of recovery via Veeam B&R.

the current way to verify the backup as far as I understand is to enable advanced settings - maintenance - perform halth check - select today and re-run the backup.
