File level backup GUI: improve selection window folder status

Hello,

when I use the file level backup to exclude big folders with not relevant data, it's impossible to see if a subfolder somewhere was excluded. There would be an easy fix that exists already since a few decades: If a subfolder is excluded do not show a checkmark on the parent folder but a dash.

In your case you show a checkmark on the volume if volume level backup is enabled and a dash if file level backup is enabled. Since this is only for the very root element in the list and you are also displaying an informational text right of the volume, you could use the dash for folders where exclusions exist. This would make it very easy to find the folder that was excluded.

I hope you can include this in the near future, since now it's impossible to find an excluded folder, if it's a few levels down.

Using an indeterminate state—such as a dash or shaded box—to indicate that a parent directory contains partial selections or exclusions is a classic UI standard, and your point about how difficult it can be to trace excluded subfolders several levels deep is completely valid
