Free version - license expired??

Hello,

my Veeam agent for Windows says now "Error: Your license has expired, and your grace period is over. To continue using the product, obtain a new license".
But why?
I thought Veeam agent for Windows is free!?
I just want to use the free version. What can I do now?

Could it be, that only Veeam Agent for Windos 2 was really FREE to backup to B&R server? Or should that also be possible for free with Agent v3?
Or none of them?

You can backup to licensed B&R servers with free standalone agents of both versions (v2 and v3). Thanks!

I got it to work again. I just had to untick on B&R server the "Allow free agents to consume instances" under license information.

Sounds good. Can you please confirm if you used VAW v2 or v3 when you have received the above error?

Hello mensa,

Mind me asking what was your original license installed in Veeam B&R (before the upgrade to U4 was installed)? Was it socket based subscription license? Any chance you had agent license installed but at some point in time it was removed? Thank you!

Hello,

I installed the Community Edition and the Agent for Windows suddenly reported that the license had expired.
Isn't the Community Edition Agent free too?
Update to version 11 and delete and reinstall the agent from the program apparently solved the problem again.
Edition is the Workstation edition caused through the Backup Job Settings.
