Full Backup Server SQL Server

Hello,

I've question about Application Aware Processing.

I'd like to made a full backup of Windows server who host SQL Server instance to VBR.

If I don't use Application Aware Processing, what does it happenned ?

Does SQL Server will going locked during backup process ?

Hello ITPAU,

With application aware processing being enabled Veeam Agent for Windows can create transactionally consistent backup of server together with residing application. Agent gathers the information about the applications running on such server (to further support application item recovery technology) and instructs the applications that restore point is going to be created (to let the application behave correctly after recovery). A different kind of snapshot will be taken and therefore SQL server won't be aware that is has been backed up. That might be beneficial if you use a separate application to backup the database.
