How switch to Free edition

Post by zazimald »

Hello,
I tested the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows trial. Now the licenses have expired and the client writes it: "Error: Your license has expired. Install the updated license, or switch to Free edition." In About is written: "License and edition are managed by server" but I did not find where I can switch to the server.

Thank you for the advice.

Did you do tests again Veeam Backup & Replication? If so please revoke the license there as explained in the userguide and try again.

If the license is expired revoke via UI wont help (unless you want to replace the retired license with a new one). On the VBR side retired license needs to be removed if you want to switch all you agents back to free mode.

I had to revoke all licenses and remove all licenses from B&R server. Run -removelicense all command to get server back to square one. Now I can license B&R and use Agent free.

Thanks to all. I have used this procedure according to the user manual:

1) cd "C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup"
2) Veeam.Backup.Manager.exe -removelicense vaw

Everything is OK now :-)
