Veeam Endpoint Backup installation failing
Hello,
I am trying to install VEEAM Endpoint Backup on my Windows 7 Pro - 64bit laptop. As a result I am unable to do a support case. I have the install logs available to submit to support if I am able to do that.

Hello Atta,
Before you go any further, please check:
- Your antivirus is not blocking the installation process.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB is installed. If you have any installation issues - the best option is to install the version included in the setup
- SYSTEM accout has full access permissions to systemprofile folder C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile
Next step is to collect and share with me the following info via any available cloud storage (Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive etc):
- The full setup logs from C:\ProgramData\Veeam
- Windows Event logs from windows event viewer (Custom View > Administrative events)
- LocalDB error log from %systemroot%\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\Instances\VeeamEndPoint\ (it should look like error.log, error1.log, error2.log etc)

Hi there, I have just upgrade the the final release and its still not starting the Endpoint services, I have uploaded all the logs files to here, can you please assist with diagnosing my installation issues.

First, I'm sorry if this does not belong here, but I could not file a support request (it seems that I'm only able to file support cases for Veeam B&R and Veeam One etc, not for VEB, so that's why I'm posting here...)

Please check if the tray icon appears after the setup fails (If it does you should be able to open a support case thru the Control Panel)? Have you tried to re run the set up after complete reboot?

No I think this is different from the post you merged me with. I get the error immediately after clicking the green install button. So nothing is installed. it runs for a millisecond.
I will try a reboot tonight.

FYI ... I am on Win 8.1 Pro and I was finally successful in re-installing my broken instance of VEB per the instructions in:
http://forums.veeam.com/veeam-endpoint- ... ml#p133833
... but I was not able to use the "-i -s" parameter format with the PsExec command. I had to use the "/i /s" format for the parameters to get past a "PsExec could not start ?i: The system cannot find the file specified." error.

VEB 110.110 won't install (fails to start service)
I understand we're supposed to use the built-in Support option, but the product won't install.
System is Win7 Home x64, 6GB RAM, 2TB HD.
I was able to install and run an earlier VEB beta, but VEB 110.110 fails to install - gives err:

There is no direct email that should be used to send debug logs. You can open a support case from any other Endpoint and attache setup logs from this installation.

- delete the instance manually
- re-creating the instance manually
- removing the instance and all db files in systemprofile manually

In addition, can you share the windows event logs for VEB application and windows system log as well (save all events as…)? The logs you shared show the service being constantly stopped but we cannot identify the root cause without the event logs. Thanks!

New install, unable to launch Control Panel
Hello,
Fresh install of VEB on Win 7 Ent, SP1, 64 bit. Installation completes with no errors.
The tray icon doesn't show up and I can't launch the Control Panel either from the start menu (nothing happens, even when running as administrator). I can launch the Configure Backup application, and try to setup a job, but the volume selection fails with "WIM method call failed." I've restarted a number of times and also followed the directions to exclude VEB files from Anti-virus (https://www.veeam.com/kb2034).
I found in the VEB service log file the following repeating error:
Since I can't launch the Control Panel, I can't submit a support request through the proper channel. Any ideas?

Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, 8 GB RAM, Sophos Antivirus
Veeam Endpoint Install fails "Starting Tray Application", but Tray Application is shown.
If I try to configure a Backup Job it fails with a SQL Connection Error
I tried many things to get this working with no luck.
- Uninstalled Sophos at first
- Uninstalled VirtualBox
- Complete Re-Installs of Veeam Endpoint in different versions
- Re-Installing .NET Frameworks
- Installing Standalone MSSQL 2012 LocalDB befor installing VEB
- all other possible solutions from this thread and more (Repair Installation, Database Re-Creation and so on)
SQL Management Studio connects without any issues
Nothing helps.

Maybe there are other software packages that conflict with this installation, let's see what your support engineer figures out after investigating the debug logs. BTW, do you see the same behavior on any other similar computer?

We deployed this machine from an Windows 8.1 Image via Acronis Boot CD. The image was likely empty, only a few installed components but none affecting .NET or SQL Server. This machine is working without any issues except this Veeam Endpoint Installation issue, but at this time we are not able to deploy this machine with a new installation of Windows 8.1

Hi,
Try to create the database please with AV being disabled or uninstalled:
1. Go to Control panel > Administrative Tools and run Services. Stop the Veeam Endpoint Backup service.
2. Run regedit.exe and locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup key. Create the following value under this key:
Name = Recreatedatabase
Type = DWORD
Value = 1
3. Start Veeam Endpoint Backup service
4. Allow some time for the new database instance to be created (5 minutes should be enough).
5. Stop Veeam Endpoint Backup service
6. Run regedit.exe and delete the Recreatedatabase value from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup key.
7. Start Veeam Endpoint Backup service.

I have the same problem with Gehacktesmacher. I also tried uninstall the VEB by using PSTools and the procedure above. But the second screenshot that Gehacktesmacher uploaded persists.

No success with 1.5, error message is the same for all versions
