Is Recovery Media Unique to the Computer it's created from?
Is Recovery Media Unique to the Computer it's created from? For example, does the recovery media that is created on a machine grab and include drivers that are specific to that machine? Do I need to create a recovery media for each computer that is being protected by Veeam endpoint?

Hi Caleb,
Its unique in terms of drivers: recovery media collects all the drivers from the OS to ensure restore works properly. You can disable this option and load drivers while performing bare metal restore. Additionally, we recommend to create at least one recovery media per windows distribution you are protecting.

Thanks for this info. It's rather unrealistic to create and track a recovery media for each endpoint that's being protected, particularly when you are choosing to backup many computers to a veeam repository. Will this be any different with the newer paid version coming out?

Caleb,
It's not required: just can keep one recovery media per OS type (i.e. one for Windows 10, another for Windows 2012R2 etc). Drivers can be loaded during bare metal recovery from the vendor disk or USB stick.

This functionality remains the same. Will this be any different with the newer paid version coming out?
