Is VBK always available for recovery?
Hello again. During the merge process, the VBK is modified and I'm wondering what happens if the machine being backed-up fails during that process (with the merge incomplete)? Is the VBK subject to the incomplete merge plus the available VIBs able to restore the machine? Thanks for your patience with my questions.

Hello Martin,
If merge fails its performed during next job run. Your backup chain remains operational.

Re: Is VBK always available for recovery?
Hi Dmitry. I've experienced myself (as you say) that if the merge is interrupted then when next VEB runs it first attempts automatically to complete the merge. But what if the machine whose backup merge was interupted actually needs to be restored? - is VEB in a condition to provide the restore when the VBK and VIBs have been left subject to a partial merge that did not complete?

Yes, you should be able to do that via operational/complete restore points.
