Job aborted due to server termination
Hi guys, sometimes I get this this error "Error: Job aborted due to server termination"
Veeam Agent is updated and the repository is a Veeam B&R Update 3a
It happens on many different customers, maybe once a day out of 20 - 30 agents backup
Is there a way to get more info about this issue?
Thanks a lot
Ciao, Marco

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
Hello Marco.
Looks like the server was gracefully shutdown while backup job was running.

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
Hi guys, I suppose that this error is mostly related to the PC that is rebooted or powered off
Please can you try to reproduce this behavior and put a better "error description", for instance : "Error: Job aborted due to PC Client reboot"
Thanks

any news on that?
It would even be better, when veeams suspends the shutdown, finishes the backup and then continues the shutdown.

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
Christoph,
Veeam Agent for Windows currently cannot suspend reboot or shutdown started by another application (or by the user), I've added your vote based to this feature request. Cheers!

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
I have the same problem when running from command line, with this "server termination".
I disabled the whole agent service aswell the agent gui because of the regular cpu spike by localsql (veeam-agent-for-windows-f33/sql-server- ... 49224.html) and created a task scheduler with following bat code:
If I enable the service and open the agent gui, the backup doesn't fail.
The bat file/tash scheduler will work if I have recently opened the gui and synchronized the license.

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
Hello and welcome to the community bergi9,
Can you please clarify what you are trying to achieve? I assume you want to initiate the backup via task scheduler (to limit the resource consumption in the idle state you want to keep agent disabled when backup job is not running) but when you do start your scrip it does not prevent the machine from being shut down? Thanks!

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
Correct, that's what I'm trying to achieve. The machine never begin to shutdown when the script starts (it's while my work time).
The problem is that I'm seeing the "Error: Job aborted due to server termination" in agent when the script fails to backup. But if i started the agent before and synchronized the license and shutdown the agent, the script will work flawless.

Re: Job aborted due to server termination
The best workaround would be to monitor job states via Veeam ONE or built-in Veeam B&R functionality and restart the job when needed. Thanks!
