Latest update not installing correctly
Hi,
Tried updating to the latest build and it stalls on starting services, I cannot start manually the Endpoint service.
When I try to remove the service and restart, it tells me :
Le service ne peut pas etre demarre. Veeam.Backup.Common.CSqlException: Microsoft SQL server hosting the configuration database is currently unavailable.
Error information:
A system assertion check has failed. Check the SQL Server error log for details
How can i reset my local SQL DB? By the way the local SQL service has the bad habit of using often a lot of CPU even when no backup occurs.
I have opened a case : Your support case number is 01003310
Please work on removing the SQL requisite, a local XML database file would be great!

Re: Latest update not installing correctly
Quick update, case solved, support made me recreate SQL DB by adding a regitry key :
Run regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup create DWORD value ReCreateDatabase = 1 and re-start Veeam EndPoint service.
Starting service takes around a minute, and voila it just works.
Thank you Veeam Support my backups are running now!

Hi Jean-Charles,
Thanks for the heads up!
The only side effect of this approach is that all existing settings are going to be erased (backup session logs and job configuration), so I recommend to use this method only if its recommended by support team.

You are missing the last step - delete the corresponding key.Run regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup create DWORD value ReCreateDatabase = 1 and re-start Veeam EndPoint service.

Thank you, I was not told to delete the key, I would have had a funny surprise at next boot
I agree, only keep this solution in the end of all other solutions.
