Hello!
We are a service provider (VCSP) and use some windows agent for backups at some customers. We mainly use two backup jobs:
Backup to a local NAS
Backup to S3
The S3 backup jobs is a veeam cloud connect repository (direct mode) which points to wasabi.
Now the problem:
We need to limit the bandwith for the cloud backup to wasabi. I know that in the VSPC in the agent settings there is an option "Limit bandwidth consumption to:". If I set this to 5 MBit/s the local backup to the NAS is also limited to 5 MBit/s. This is not ideal.
Is there a way to throttle or control the upload speed to avoid saturating the customers internet connection?
Hello,
there is no way today to have different traffic throttling rules like they exist in Veeam Backup & Replication with Veeam Service Provider Console and Veeam Agent for Windows (VAW).
If it's only one VAW per tenant, then setting a traffic limit on the tenant might be an option, but I guess that's a corner case scenario.
I forwarded your question as feature request to the VSPC team
Hello Hannes,
thank you for your reply. Are you sure that the setting at the company level in the VSPC will thottle direct to object storage backups?
Description: Defines maximum incoming network traffic bandwidth that will be accepted from the company. Traffic from companies with more bandwidth will be throttled to the specified amount.
