Local and remote backup

Post by adrianmejia »

Hi every one,

I am evaluating VEEAM agent to backup some of my physical remote servers and one of the key features I need is the posibility to have a daily local backup and weekly or monthly remote backup, my question is, Could I have that with VEEAM Agent for Windows?

Thanks.

Hi Adrian,

With a local backup, do you mean to USB or to a Veeam Backup and Replication repository?

Thanks

Hi Mike,

At the beginning I was trying to do it in that way but I do not know if that is posible or if there is a way to have a local backup and remote backup.
As this is a remote site, I only have one server with several roles and I need to protect the data that is inside the server and one of the key features is this.

Thanks

Hi Adrian,

What I would do in your case (if possible of course) is to save the backup to a Veeam Backup & Replication repository. Once it is there, you can take that backup and do a backup copy job to tape/ a cloud provider/ another remote location...

But for that, you need to have a B&R server in your environment.

Hi Micke,

In that case I think I should do a full install of Veeam Backup and Replication in my remote server? Is that permited? It could impact the server performance?

Thanks
