Mapped Agent backup job to VBR repo, first run is not incremental

Post by SBarrett847 »

I've multi-terabyte Agent job that I've seeded from the source with a USB Disk, to the Destination VBR repo. I've followed the Guide https://www.veeam.com/kb2849 and the Agent Job has been imported and appears in the destination VBR, under Disk, correctly. However, when it is run, it is running a full backup instead of just continuing the existing incremental chain. This defeats the purpose of the seed.

How do i get the Agent job to continue with incrementals for the job?

Hello,
as far as I understand, you have the "limitation" situation (last sentence) of the KB article. Local target to VBR repository.
It is not possible to map Veeam Agent Managed by Agent backup from a Shared folder or Local Target to a Veeam Backup & Replication Repository.
Best regards,
Hannes

Ahh! Disappointing. I'll have to use the USB disk as as local repo somehow first. Seems a bit of a waste to install VBR on the Source side just to seed. Thanks for pointing it out though.

One for the Feature Request list - remove this limitation.
