I currently have backup files on a local USB drive:
F:\john laptop backup windows 8\Veeam\Backup Job JOHN-LAPTOP
when I move them to a nas drive with the same file path, rather than use the existing files Veeam creates a new directory (i.e. with _1 suffix):
\\NAS\john laptop backup windows 10\Veeam\Backup Job JOHN-LAPTOP_1
Also, when I try and point the job back to the old location, veeam now creates a new directory (i.e. with _1 suffix):
F:\john laptop backup windows 10\Veeam\Backup Job JOHN-LAPTOP_1
Is there a way I can get Veeam to use the existing files?
Thanks,

Re: Moving backup location from USB to NAS
Hi,
It should work in the following way:
1. Place "Backup Job JOHN-LAPTOP" folder to a NAS drive, for example place it in \\NAS\john folder
2. Edit the job in such way that it points to \\NAS\john folder
Job should detect an existing .vbm and continue the chain. If that does not work for you please open a case with our support team and post your case ID here.
Thank you.

Re: Moving backup location from USB to NAS
Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. I tried again with moving the files and realised that a file which I had manually put in the directory was causing the problems (I had put a readme file in the directory with some note about the different versions of the backup).
When I removed this file evreything worked as described in your help files.
Thanks,
John
