No retore points found in vbk file

Post by ryperx »

Hello,

i have a problem with a backup file. The computer of a friend completly crashed and he thought he did everyday a backup, what was wrong.
So we ended up with an backup file from 2018, an vbm and vbk file.
I think/hope it is a full backup.

Problem is when i try to open it in veeam, it is possible, but it tells me no restore points available.

Do you have any idea what i can try?

Best regards

Greetings!
You are in luck, as vbk is a Full Backup file. However there might be nuances opening it from Veeam Agent File level Restore wizard.
Please, install Veeam Backup and Replication Community Edition and try opening said backup from it.

Greetings :)

thanks for fast response.

i installed the veeam backup and replication community edition.
When i open the *.vbm file i get the message to use the veeam management console.
When i open the vbk file i get "Restore points is corrupted" .
In "Total machine size:" it tells me it has only 33,7MB.

Is there anything i can do?

Manual Import is worth a shot.
Beside that, it will be best to be guided by Support Team (ticket can be created from cp.veeam.com or from an agent UI).
