Not able to exclude folder

Post by andreas2012 »

Hi,

If I do a File level backup, and select the following as you can see from the image below the directory D:\Temp is not excluded
If I do a File level backup, and select to exclude the C:\Temp then it is ok.
So how can I add for example D:\ but exclude some directories within that drive ?

Image

Thanks for reply

Hi Andreas:

This is best outlined here: veeam-agent-for-windows-f33/how-to-excl ... 47338.html
As the "Hybrid backup"

Hi,

To me this seems like something I have to do manually on every server/client ?
This cannot be done if I manage the backup agent from the backup server ? And we have many clients/servers we need to do exclude on...
If I am wrong, please advice which steps to take

/Regards

Hello Andreas,
If I do a File level backup, and select the following as you can see from the image below the directory D:\Temp is not excluded
That does not looks like expected. Can you please confirm that after backup was taken you do not have the folder D:\Temp in the backup file by running file level restore from created restore point? Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Yes its there, I have also tried to exclude the files *.jpg *.avi but they are also there.
So to me it seems as long as I add the D:\ or E:\ or any other, I am no able to exclude anything in that drive.
But to exclude on the C:\ drive that`s no problem.

Andreas,

May I ask you submit a case and share the case ID with me? It looks like a bug and I want to ask our QA to take a look at your debug logs? Thank you in advance.

Hello Andreas.

Thank you for follow up. To clarify, was the VSS warning displayed in agent job session or it was missing? Cheers!
