Offline file attribute
Does anyone know how Veeam Agent for Windows treats files which are on remote storage?
Is it aware of the extended file attribute "Offline" ?
Would it treat these files any differently?
TIA

Hi DT,
What do you mean exactly with remote storage?
Veeam Agent for Windows can't protect remote storage at this point in time. You will need to protect the storage "locally"

Re: Offline file attribute
I'm thinking of a Windows server with attached disks from tiered storage, where the lowest tier is 'cold' storage and files are marked as 'offline'.
We wouldn't want those files been retrieved for backup if they are unchanged.

Hello DeadEyedJacks,
VAW does not include content of symbolic links to backup set, so if you have a folder from remote storage mounted it is going to be skipped. Thanks!

OK, thanks Dima, that's reassuring.
