OneDrive support for Microsoft Windows Server OS
Hi,
Is there any reason why I can't choose Microsoft OneDrive as Backup Destination when running a Microsoft Windows Server OS (with Veeam Agent free)?
We are an NGO with a small IT-environment. So this would be a great feature for us.
Regards
Patrick

Hello Patrick.
Yes this is a 'by design' limitation. Thanks.

In other words: "you have to pay if you want to use this feature"?

No, VAW does not support direct backup to OneDrive for server operating systems in paid versions as well.

To bad.
I would be a great feature, if you could unlock this feature for server operating systems as well!

Patrick,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Have you considered using Veeam Cloud Connect as a backup target for Veeam Agents? You can select Find Veeam-powered service provider or build your own Veeam Cloud Connect infrastructure and use it as a target across all your IT shops.

Re: OneDrive support for Microsoft Windows Server OS
I have. But therefor we have to pay Veeam Agent Server and the service provider.
I think Veeam didn't have special conditions for NGOs, or? This would be the next feature request: It would be great if Veeam were a partner of techsoup.org
As an NGO you got 1TB space at OneDrive for free.
So Veaam Agent free & OneDrive would be the cheapest solution!

Re: OneDrive support for Microsoft Windows Server OS
OneDrive support as backup target is limited to desktops only due to performance issues... good enough to protect smaller laptops, but not a good solution for servers - which are typically a few times bigger in size, have stricter RPO requirements etc.

I can agree with you to 100%, if we are talking about "normal" companies.
But as small NGO with a small IT-environment it would be a great solution.
