Ports Agent to Repository - documentation wrong?

Post by mma »

Hi!

I am the only one who thinks the docu for ports between Veeam agents and repository are wrong in the docu (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=13)? The docu mentions ports 6162 and 2500 to 3300 to be open to the repositry. This should be labeled as "Mount server" instead of "Veeam backup repository". :?:

Edit: My bad - it's the Gateway server and that one is mentioned :-) But what exactly is "Veeam backup repository" supposed to be?

Hi Marcel,

When you use Veeam Agent with Veeam Backup & Replication and store backups on a repository managed by the backup server, our Veeam Agent will need connectivity either to the Gateway Server or directly to the Veeam Backup Repository.

A Gateway Server is used for Object Storage, NFS, SMB, or deduplication appliances. For other repository types, the agent needs a direct connection to the repository. Object Storage Repositories can also be configured direct for AWS and S3 compatible.

Best,
