Protection Group and Veeam Installer

Post by collinp »

Where is it documented that when you create a Protection Group and "uncheck" the Install Veeam Agent box that Veeam would still install the Veeam Installer Service on all the computers in the group?

Hello Collin.

Thank you for your post! I've asked Technical Writers team to double check and if it's not documented make the corresponding edits.

Why would it need to install the Veeam Installer? Isn't that only necessary if you want to install the agent on the server?

Collin,

Installer service is required to establish and keep the contention alive between client host and Veeam B&R. Frankly speaking, this component serves management traffic between server and client.
