Hi!

Why in Recovery Media installed by default in Russian keyboard layout?
My system is Russian, but always by default is Englysh keyboard layout.

Hi,

Default keyboard language we set in a recovery media is the same as the default keyboard language of Windows RE that has been used to build the recovery media.

Hope it helps.

It is not comfortable.
Usually network paths english.
It is sad.

And I can not change this preset when creating the recovery media?

No, currently this is not possible, but you may switch between keyboard languages using common method or Wpeutil.

If I remember correctly we rely on local culture and not on the default keyboard layout, so if during OS installation Russian was selected as a main language - it will be displayed as default in RE.

Additional layouts are collected as well - you just need to hit [Alt] + [Shift] to switch the layout.

Thank God .. You saved my life ...
Origional System = English UK but I switched to English US with US-international KB
Recovery Media does not pick up that Change ....
Solution : First goto Dosbox and type : Wpeutil SetKeyboardLayout 0409:0020409
exit and continue to bare metal restore ..

Aha .. I used wrong key seq. yesterday .. ALT+SHIFT does ALSO the trick
