Recreate config file after central management

Hi all,

it seems that I made a stupid mistake when upgrading to v10 and VUL. Initially I had several physical servers protected with VAW free with our VBR server. When upgrading the server to V10 and switch to VUL license scheme I also put these physical servers into a managed protection group.

Now I realized that these backup jobs are no longer available in VBR. It seems that I have to recreate them within VBR. There I face two challenges:
1) What were the settings (among others entire computer vs volume based, time schedules)? Can I recover them?
2) Can I seed the new backups with the existing ones?

Hi Frank,

Have you already tried to reconfigure the jobs with these agents?
When you switch standalone agents to the "managed" mode - the agents start using the new database and that's why you don't see the "old" jobs.
Also, how many agents you have and how many jobs need to be recovered?
Job configuration details can be taken, for example, from the logs, but I'm not sure it would be suitable if you have a lot of jobs to recover.

As for mapping - there are guides for different cases (like 'managed by agent' jobs mapping), but we need to clarify which case is yours.

Update from my side:

I've tried to open a support case via the web form but that failed. Called Veeam in Germany, got an agent on the line within 3min. He created the case for me and asked if he can check remotely right now. He checked the situation and in principle after ~10min of work I was happy.

Solution:
Deleted the protection group which I deleted
removed the licenses used for the physical servers
started Agent tray exe on the physical servers and the old backup jobs were there
Manually started a backup job and everything worked as expected.

Well done Veeam!

For now the unmanaged operation mode is fine with me.
