Repository Connection

Hello,

I have a problem to establish a connection to my Repository. If I try to initialize (setup) the connection, I get an error message like:
'Cannot connect to backup server XXXXX.'

The ports are open and the successful connection I can see in my firewall logs. The Port 10001 on my Backup Server is open also.
Now the question is, is the Endpoint version compatible with the older v7 Backup & Replication version?

In my v7 I can't find any options to share the Repository...

André,

It isn't. It is only compatible with Veeam B&R 8 WITH update 2

Hm, is it possible to get a minimal update for v7? ;-)

I have a 3 years licence and the expire date is in june 2017... What can I do now?
I will not really pay again for the same product (during the current period). :-(

André,

If you have a 3 years licence (that means support right?) that also means you have the right to update for free. Any reason why you don't want to update? And second, was there anyone that told you you can't update? Because then I want to investigate this to see if there is something wrong.

I do have to admit that I am not a licensing specialist, so maybe I am wrong here (although I doubt it) but allow me to investigate it for you if you give me more information

Hi Mike,

Ok, then was it a misunderstanding from my side. I thought, I cannot upgrade to v8. I thought, my right is on v7 restricted.
But, I received from this address https://www.veeam.com/manage_licenses.html a v8 trial version only.

I want upgrade my v7 to v8. But I thought, that is not possible because the support license.
