Restore backup to ESX
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to restore a backup I made to a virtual host in ESX, but I'm struggeling.
What I tried is:
1. Export the virtual disk using Veeam backup and replication console;
2. Create a new virtual host with the same hardware specifications, and attach the exported disk;
3. Boot the machine with the recovory ISO
Each time I try to boot the machine I looks like windows is starting and a few seconds after the process repeats from the start.
If I remove the exported disk from the VM and just boot from the recovery media nothing happens. I allready recreated the recovery media but that doesn't make a difference.
Any help on how I can acchieve this?

Re: Restore backup to ESX
Hello,
You either use recovery media (iso) to a Bare Metal Recovery to blank VM or you export disk as virtual and attach it to a VM.

Re: Restore backup to ESX
Dima,
That's exacly what I tried and thats exacly what's not working.
I can't use the recovery media because it appears to do nothing.
I can't just export the disk and attach it to a VM because the machine doesn't boot.
edit:typo

System32,
Check the VM boot properties. If Recovery Media was created on computer with EFI use this option. If not - use BIOS.
