restoring files from win Server 12 backup to a win Server 16 ( or 19) new installation

Hi,

our server broke down and we lost all the data on it. now we need to reinstall the OS.

As we had Win Server 2012 version on it, we would like to go with a new OS version. Before I'm doing that i would like to know if there is a way to restore data backed-up from a Win Server 2012 onto a fresh installation of a newer Windows Server verion.

and welcome to the forums.

Veeam Agent for Windows can restore to any Windows version. You can also go with Windows Server 2022 and restore files from Windows Server 2008 R2
