Rotation with NAS

Post by Ghent55 »

Hi,

I'm currently using version 2 of Veeam Agent for Windows, free edition. I see there is an option for rotating USB devices, but can NAS devices be swapped? This is via CIFS/SMB. Both NAS's have the same hostname and IP address. This is for long term storage reasons.

If the NAS devices can be swapped out, will Veeam be able to read what is currently on the NAS and make the judgment on the type of backup it runs? Thanks!

Rotated media works only with removable storage directly connected to the computer.

This might work. In theory VAW should map job to existing backup chain if path to the backup files remains the same.
