SATA MODE

Post by ColbyIT »

Okay I figured out why I am getting inaccessible device after restoring to dissimilar hardware. The original machine SATA mode is on AHCI mode the new computer SATA mode is on RAID ON because the hard drive is being accelerated by Intel Optane. If I change the BIOS from RAID ON to AHCI the restore machine will boot but then the Intel Optane will not work. I tried reinstalling the Intel Optane Software which installs the drivers and changes the BIOS to RAID On during the reboot but the machine goes back to not booting and the inaccessible drive issue. I have passed this on to support but have not heard back.
